Pediatric Endodontics & Pediatric Crowns

PEDIATRIC ENDODONTICS

When the nerve of a primary tooth becomes infected or abscessed, a pulpotomy or pulpectomy is necessary to save the tooth.
PULPOTOMY/ PULPECTOMY
In PULPOTOMY the infected part of the nerve is removed and a sedative medication is placed inside the tooth to prevent sensitivity and to promote healing.
A PULPECTOMY requires the total removal of the nerve. In permanent teeth this is referred to as Root Canal Therapy.

Pediatric Crowns

Pediatric Crowns are a nice solution for discolored, chipped, broken, or root canal treated teeth. Pediatric crowns are specially designed for front as well as back teeth.
In case of front teeth, we can either bond tooth-colored plastic to the damaged tooth or cement tooth-colored crowns. Both options not only restore the appearance of discolored teeth, but restore the original shape of chipped or broken teeth as well.
But please keep in mind: Bonded teeth and pediatric crowns are simply not as strong as the original tooth structure. They can be damaged by nail biting, hard foods, and sports accidents. Try to maintain them with excellent oral hygiene and regular dental visits.
COMPOSITE STRIP CROWNS

For restoration of normal form and function of back teeth, STAINLESS STEEL CROWNS are the treatment of choice.
Stainless Steel Crowns are placed on primary teeth to protect, seal and strengthen a tooth. They are indicated in a large decayed tooth, pulpotomy / pulpectomy done tooth or to correct a malformed tooth.
